With terrific community support in the current Help Holly Help Grant Challenge, the St. Martin de Porres Challenge, Holly Geraci & Peter Francis Geraci’s Help Holly Help Crossed the $130,000 mark for raised funds. Given the diversity of donations and nonprofit causes, this is a terrific milestone.
In October of 2016, Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci promised to match, dollar-for-dollar, the first $10,000 raised during a grant challenge period. Donors have given everything from $10– $5000. Regardless of the amount, the Geracis’ matched the contribution. Five dollars became ten dollars, and five hundred dollars became a thousand.
However, it takes more than a promise to match to raise money. Raising donations and awareness is a group effort. The grant challenges, spearheaded by Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci, invigorate donors to spend more and do more to promote the nonprofit they support. Nevertheless, it is up to the nonprofit organizations to spread the message and notify donors of the unique opportunity. Help Holly Help will pitch in with social media, design and work hand-in-hand with the nonprofit to keep donations coming. But raising money, during each challenge, becomes a group effort.
Currently, HelpHollyHelp.com is challenging St. Martin de Porres House of Hope to raise ten-thousand dollars. St. Martin de Porres, provides counseling services and handles various disorders including bipolar disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and personality disorders. The money raised during the challenge period will help St. Martin de Porres provide counseling services their patients need. With nearly 60 percent of all female substance abusers having a mental health disorder, it is important to provide professional counseling service.
