Since October of 2016, helphollyhelp.com has raised more than $150,000 towards nonprofits. The success of the Help Holly Help Grant Challenges have been encouraging. The goal for 2017 is to raise another $100,000 towards nonprofits. We are just about halfway there, with more than 6 months to go. Every challenge has been different so far, but successful in their own way.
Our most recent challenge, the St. Martin De Porres Challenge has been very successful. Without the matching grant, St. Martin de Porres raised more than $20,000 towards. With the matching contribution, they are looking to receive more than $30,000. All of the money donated will go towards helping women and children who need residential substance abuse services.
Helphollyhelp.com kicked off their first challenge, the Rockford Rescue Mission Challenge, in late September. Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci promised to match, dollar-for-dollar, the first $10,000 raised. Folks donated everything from $5 – $500. The challenge raised over $11,000 while raising awareness to homelessness and hunger in Rockford.
The second challenge was Covenant Enabling Residences of Illinois, also known as “CER.” The CER challenge was unusual in the sense the challenge lasted one night. Help Holly Help had a special thermostat on the website tracking all the donations given. Initially, the Gala reported $26,000 raised, but after the final count, the one-night gala challenge raised more than $58,200. The money raised will go to adults suffering from developmental disabilities.
Help Holly Help’s third challenge was the Alano Club of Lahaina Challenge. in Lahaina, Hawaii. The Challenge lasted more than a month, but only because Mr. & Mrs. Geraci decided to raise the grant challenge maximum to $15,000. The increase was due to the challenges early success, raising most of the $10,000 in the first 2 days. By the end of the challenge, the Alano Club of Lahaina raised more than $35,000!
The fourth challenge, the Thresholds Challenge raised more than 20,100 by the end. The Grant challenge went to the very end, but with only 2 days left, Thresholds was able to reach the $10,000 maximum.
Raising money and awareness is a group effort. The grant challenges, spearheaded by Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci, invigorates donors to spend more and do more to promote the nonprofit they support. It is for these reasons Holly Geraci and Peter Francis Geraci will continue to challenge nonprofits.
The next Help Holly Help Grant Challengee has already been selected. The grant challenge will start on 6/1/2017, when the announcement is made. We are looking forward to another successful challenge! You can learn more about Holly Geraci’s charities at www.helphollyhelp.com.
